PINAYUHAN ni Solicitor General Jose Calida, ang mga opisyal ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) na maging mapagmatyag sa Smartmatic Inc., kasunod ng posibleng dayaan sa halalan.
Ang paalala ay ginawa ni Calida sa pamamagitan ng liham na ipinadala kay Comelec chairman Saidamen Pangarunan at Commissioners Socorro Inting, Marlon Casquejo, Aimee Ferolino, Rey Bulay, George Garcia at Aimee Torrefranca-Neri.
“Solicitor General Calida found it imperative to inform the Comelec that its act of barring witnesses during the printing of the ballots and the configuration of SD cards as well as the lack of actual review of the source codes by the accredited interested participants violates the 1987 Constitution, the Omnibus Election Code, and other related laws,” ayon sa OSG .
Nagpahayag rin ng paga-alala ang OSG sa umano’y security breach na kinasangkutan ng dating Smartmatic employee, na maaring maging banta sa integridad ng May 9 elections.
Samantala,tiniyak naman ni Pangarungan ma aalamin ng Comelec ang naturang bagay.
“Although we maintain that the Comelec has not fallen victim to any attacks that will amount to a security breach, we will not take these allegations sitting down,” dagdag ni Pangarungan.
Magugunita na sinabi ng Smartmatic na hindi sila biktima ng hacking at ang data na nai-upload ng kanilang dating empleyado ay hindi sensitibo. (Philip Reyes)
