A MALE Chinese national who earlier was nabbed at the NAIA Terminal for bringing into the country skimming devices meant to gain access to bank cards, among others, was nabbed by a composite team of law enforcers on the basis of being an undesirable alien.

In a report to newly-appointed Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco, Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) chief Rendel Ryan Sy identified the Chinese as Wu Hongsheng alias Wu Hong Shen, 40.

Sy stated in his report that Wu is an undesirable alien who poses risk to public interest.

Wu was nabbed in an operation conducted on September 13, 2022 along T. Alonzo Street in Binondo, Manila, by the FSU, in coordination with the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) and the CIDG-Manila DFU.

It was learned that on August 31, 2016, Wu was caught at the NAIA Terminal 2, by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in flagrante, while carrying into the Philippines stolen credit cards, several skimming devices and access devices specifically bank cards belonging to different owners, SIM cards, wiring-connectors, laptops, accessories and other similar articles in commercial quantity. He was charged and subsequently got released after posting bail.

Wu, according to Sy’s report, has a pending criminal case filed before Branch 112, Regional Trial Court of Pasay City for Violation of R.A. No. 8484 or the Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998.

He will be turned over to the BIWF after booking and documentation at the BI Main Office and upon testing negative for COVID-19 via RT- PCR Test. (JERRY S. TAN)
