A Chinese man who presented a fake Philippine tourist visa was stopped by immigration authorities on Monday afternoon.
The Chinese man, identified as Su Wenpeng, arrived via a Cebu Pacific flight from Hanoi when he was intercepted by immigration officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
Bureau of Immigration (BI) spokesperson Dana Sandoval said that Su claimed to be traveling alone for a vacation in Bohol when immigration officers noticed inconsistencies in his 9(a) tourist visa.
Upon document checking under the BI’s forensic documents laboratory, it was confirmed that the visa he presented was counterfeit.
Sandoval said he was immediately excluded for being likely to be a public charge and for being improperly documented.
As a consequence of his exclusion, Su’s name will be included in the BI’s blacklist, barring any future attempts to re-enter the country.
