The Chinese Embassy in Manila officially launcedh the Chinese Visa Application Service Center to cater to growing Filipinos who want to visit China.

Ambassador Huang Xiliian, who led the occasion, said: “On behalf of the Chinese Embassy, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to the new Visa Center! I would also like to express heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your support to the Embassy.”

Amb. Huang Xilian reiterated that China and the Philippines are natural partners for geographical proximity and close kinship, and enjoy close people-to-people exchanges. The enthusiasm of Filipinos to visit China and the demand for Chinese visa have been growing fast over the years.

“My Embassy has worked tirelessly to improve visa processing capacity and service quality despite shortage of personnel among other bottlenecks. It remained, however, challenging to fully meet the increasing demand of visa application,” the Chinese envoy said.

To facilitate our visa service and help enhance people-to-people exchanges, we have decided to establish a Chinese Visa Application Service Center, he added.

“This was a decision based on careful study and with the support of the DFA and relevant parties. This new visa center, with its perfect location, a spacious reception hall, first-class facilities, sufficient reception capacity and a professional management team, will greatly enhance the efficiency and experience of visa processing,” Huang Xilian added.

He said it is an international practice to set up visa centers in countries where there is a great demand for visa application. So far, China has set up 100 overseas visa application centers in 52 countries around the world.

Meanwhile, the ambassador explained that their partner, CYTS Corporation was the winner among numerous competitors through rigorous selection and bidding processes.

As a commercial entity registered locally and operating in accordance with Philippine laws, the Visa Center is entrusted by the Embassy to handle visa applications by providing on-site reception, acceptance of application materials, visa issuance and answering relevant inquiries. However, the decision on visa approval remains with the Embassy.

The Visa Center also prioritizes data security and will take strict measures to protect the privacy of applicants. The operation of the Visa Center is under comprehensive supervision of the Embassy to ensure the best and safest service.
