CHINA EMBASSY, TAHIMIK SA ISSUE NG PAGPAPATAWAG NI PBBM KAY AMB. HUANG XILIAN

Sa ibinahaging pahayag ni China Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman Wang Wenbin, sinabi nito na: “Earlier, we shared the facts and actual circumstances of the incident as well as China’s principled position. We would like to stress again that what the China Coast Guard did was professional and restrained,” at hindi umano gaya ng gustong palabasin ng ilang sector.

Ayon kay Wang Wenbin, “China and the Philippines have communicated about this through existing maritime-related communication channels between the foreign ministries. At present, the relevant waters are calm overall.”

“We would also like to point out that the South China Sea arbitration case brought by the Philippines was pure political drama orchestrated by the US. Its so-called ruling is illegal, null and void and will have no effect whatsoever on China’s claims to rights in the South China Sea. The US invokes its Mutual Defense Treaty with the Philippines at every turn in an attempt to intimidate China, but it will not weaken our resolve and will to safeguard China’s legitimate and lawful rights and interests,” pahayag pa ng MFA spokesperson.

“All states should respect maritime order based on international law, in particular UNCLOS and recall that the 2016 Arbitral Award is final and legally binding. We firmly oppose any action that increases tensions,” ani Kazuhiko.

Sabi naman ni Australian Ambassador to the Philippines HK Yu: “…the Chinese vessel’s move was “unsafe and intimidatory” directed against the Philippines.”

“We continue to call for peace, stability and respect for international law in the South China Sea, a vital international waterway,” ayon pa sa pahayag nito.

Samantala, sa isang TV interview ay inihayag ni dating National Security Adviser Professor Clarita Carlos: “My position is that you can’t keep on expecting a different result and doing the same thing. There’s a name for that. It’s called katangahan.”

What is China doing? It’s pushing us to the arms of Americans,”ani Carlos. (VICTOR BALDEMOR RUIZ)
