THE Philippines’ leading airline, Cebu Pacific (CEB), has transported more than 50 million COVID-19 vaccine doses across the country to date, reaching another delivery milestone as the government ramps up vaccination for the children and the elderly and booster jabs for the vaccinated individuals.

CEB has safely airlifted life-saving vaccines to 28 provinces since March 2021, namely: Bacolod, Boracay, Bohol, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cauayan, Cebu, Cotabato, Davao, Dipolog, Dumaguete, General Santos, Iloilo, Legazpi, Kalibo, Masbate, Naga, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Puerto Princesa, Roxas, San Jose, Siargao, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Tawi-Tawi, Virac, and Zamboanga.

Among the provinces, Cagayan de Oro received the highest number of vaccine shipments, totaling 711,520 doses over the past two months. It was followed by Iloilo, Bacolod, Tacloban, and Legazpi.

“We are glad that Cebu Pacific continues to transport these much-needed vaccines safely. This enables us to get more Cagayanons inoculated to get the protection they need, whether first, second, or booster doses,” said Cagayan de Oro Mayor Oscar Moreno.

The vaccine doses were subject to stringent procedures to guarantee potency and efficacy until its arrival at the designated stations.

“We are committed to keep supporting the national immunization program through the safe and timely delivery of COVID-19 vaccines across our widest domestic network,” said Alex Reyes, Chief Strategy Officer at Cebu Pacific.

CEB has attained 100% vaccination rate for its active flying crew through its very own employee vaccination program, JG Summit COVID Protect, and various partnerships with local government units in the country. It has already started its booster program to ensure the continued safety of its employees and passengers.

The airline has been rated 7/7 stars by airlineratings.com for its COVID-19 compliance as it continues to implement a multi-layered approach to safety, in accordance with global aviation standards. These include daily extensive cleaning and disinfection protocols for all aircraft and facilities, on top of its contactless flight procedures. Its jet fleet is equipped with hospital grade HEPA filters, known to eradicate viruses with 99.9% efficiency.

CEB operates the widest domestic network in the Philippines covering 31 destinations, on top of its 11 international destinations. Its 74-strong fleet, one of the youngest in the world, includes two (2) dedicated ATR freighters. (TSJ)
