The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) strengthened regional air connectivity with the return of commercial flights at Romblon Airport.
“CAAP will continue to work with our airline partners and stakeholders to make connectivity safer, more efficient, and more accessible to the Filipino people,” CAAP Director General Retired Lt. Gen. Del Rosario said.
Sunlight Air conducted its inaugural flight from Clark to Tablas Airport (Romblon Airport) on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, marking an important step in the restoration of commercial air service to the province.
CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio said that through the close coordination of the CAAP Romblon Airport Management and personnel with Sunlight Air, security agencies and other concerned stakeholders, all necessary operational, safety and security preparations were undertaken to ensure the smooth arrival and departure of the flight.
The successful operation is aligned with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez to strengthen connectivity and improve transportation infrastructure and services across the country to help the tourism, trade and local economic development, Apolonio added.
