The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed that airports located in the track of typhoon ‘Karding’ reported no major damages in its facilities and that its operations remained normal.
As reported by its respective airport managers to CAAP Acting Director General Captain Manuel Antonio “Skee” Tamayo, Luzon airports in CAAP Area 1 (Baguio, Laoag, Vigan, Lingayen, Rosales, and San Fernando Airports), Area 2 (Tuguegarao, Cauayan, Palanan, Bagabag, Basco, and Itbayat Airports), Area 3 (Plaridel, Iba, Baler, Alabat, Jomalig, Calapan, Lubang, Mamburao, Marinduque, San Jose, Pinamalayan, Wasig, Romblon, and Sangley), Area 4 (Puerto Princesa, Busuanga, Cuyo, and San Vicente), and Area 5 (Bicol International Airport, Bulan, Sorsogon, Daet, Masbate, Naga, and Virac) incurred no damages and passenger terminal and boarding operations are normal.
Additionally, no major damages were reported from Clark International Airport, per LIPAD Operations Manager Dante Basanta. Clark Facility-in-Charge Mr. Dennis Morfe also reported that Clark Air Traffic Service (ATS) has resumed normal operations at 3:00 a.m. today. (Baby Cuevas)
