CAAP kicks off weeklong anniversary celebration

THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) kicked off its week-long celebration of the Authority’s 14th founding anniversary themed, “March Forth: A new journey unfolds” today, February 28.

CAAP will be conducting various events for its employees in lieu of its anniversary, including a bloodletting activity, a webinar titled “Mental Health Awareness on New Normal,” physical fitness activity (Zumba), clean-up drive and a thanksgiving Mass.

A special program is set to proceed this Friday, showcasing the Authority’s accomplishments and activities during the current administration. The said event will also be joined by DOTr Secretary Art Tugade.

As the Authority’s anniversary month coincides with National Women’s Month, CAAP also took the chance to greet and thank its women employees through handing over of flowers to its women service chiefs, and central office personnel.

Simultaneously, CAAP also held its flag raising ceremony, adhering to physical distancing measures and other minimum health protocols mandated by IATF.

“To begin, it is true that the aviation industry has been severely impacted by the pandemic for the last two years. But because of our cooperation and our conscious efforts to value the observance of minimum health protocols and being vaccinated, we can finally see reasons to be optimistic as we look ahead to 2022,” said Deputy Director General for Operations Capt. Donaldo Mendoza in his message.

Capt. Mendoza further expressed that in CAAP’s fourteenth year, it aims to ‘march forth’ with a positive outlook that it can deliver operations as a more responsive and proactive agency; responding to the needs of its stakeholders with more agility and responsibility.

Since becoming an independent regulatory body in 2008, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) unceasingly improves the country’s aviation sector by launching initiatives and projects that will develop the country’s aviation infrastructure, safety and overall performance.
