CAAP issues advisory re Tropical depression “Florita”

THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has ramped up its preparations for typhoon “Florita” prior to its landfall on the next 36 hours, as PAGASA issued tropical cyclone bulletin no.4 at 5 a.m. today, August 22.

CAAP Director General Capt. Manuel Antonio“Skee” Tamayo had given instructions to Area managers on Region 1 airports (Baguio,Laoag,Vigan,Lingayen & Pangasinan) & region 2 airports (Bagabag,Palanan,Cauayan,Basco & Itbayat) to activate its procedures for typhoon disaster response for the incoming weather disturbance.


CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio said that airport managers are closely monitoring and conducting inspections at their respective airports. (TSJ)
