CAAP attends 41st ICAO Assembly, joins initiative in improving PH Aviation Safety

Montreal, Canada – The Philippines, represented by Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Acting Director General Captain Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo and Acting Deputy Director General for Administration Atty. Danjun G. Lucas joined the 41st International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly from 26 September to 01 October 2022.

The ICAO Triennial Assembly, themed “Reconnecting the World,” brings together top-level representatives of 193 Member States to discuss the state of the aviation industry.

The assembly dominated discussions on air navigation safety, aviation resilience, environmental protection and sustainability, as well as adoption of a more responsive aviation legal workforce.


During the assembly, ICAO council elections were also held.

In separate meetings, CAAP also convened with Oman, UAE, and Canada delegates to discuss possible points of cooperation with the said countries. ADG Captain Tamayo and ADDGA Atty. Lucas expressed appreciation for their willingness to support Philippine aviation. (JERRY S. TAN)
