BOC-Clark busts P4.4 million worth of high grade marijuana; shipment declared as “fishing net”

Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga – The Port of Clark, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), seized 2,922 grams of High Grade Marijuana or Kush, with an estimated value of P4.383 million last October 28, 2022.

The illegal drugs were discovered in a shipment said to contain “fishing net” which arrived on October 23 from Azusa, California, USA.

The same was marked for physical examination as it showed a suspicious image.


Physical examination was immediately conducted which resulted to the discovery of one blue Styrofoam sheet containing six vacuum-sealed packs of dried leaves suspected to be illegal drugs.

Representative samples were then taken and turned over to PDEA for chemical laboratory analysis which confirmed the presence of Tetrahydrocannabinol/ Marijuana, a dangerous drug under Republic Act (R.A.) No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

A Warrant of Seizure and Detention was issued against the shipment for violation of Sections 118 (g), 119 (d) and 1113 par. f, I & l (3 & 4) of R.A. No. 10863 in relation to Section 4 of R.A. No. 9165.

Port of Clark Officer in Charge Collector John Simon lauded the ESS, CIIS, Customs Examiners, Xray Inspectors, and the Customs Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force operatives for their vigilance in protecting our border against entry of illegal drugs.


To date, the Port of Clark already seized P129 million worth of illegal drugs in 2022.
