The Bureau of Immigration (BI) successfully stopped an attempt by a blacklisted Indian man to enter the country last May 6 at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
The man, identified as Kulwinder Singh, was intercepted upon his arrival on a Scoot airlines flight TR390 from Singapore.
He was found to be subject of a blacklist order issued against him in 2023 after being stopped then for being likely to become a public charge.
Singh attempted to re-enter the country, but was denied after his name was found to be in the BI’s database of undesirable foreigners.
In a statement, BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco emphasized the importance of vigilance in safeguarding the country’s borders.
“Our primary responsibility is to ensure the integrity of our immigration procedures and protect our nation from individuals who pose a threat to our security,” Commissioner Tansingco stated.
As a result, Singh was required to board the next available flight back to his port of origin.
