The Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported the interception of a Chinese man wanted for deportation by the agency for alleged involvement in human trafficking and prostitution.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said 51-year-old Du Shuizhong was intercepted at the NAIA terminal 1 last Sept. 19 as he was about to board an Air China flight to Chengdu, China.
Du was not allowed to leave and was instead arrested and brought to the BI detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.
According to Viado, Du will be sent back to China pursuant to a deportation order that the BI board of commissioners issued against him in November last year for being an undesirable alien.
He was also placed in the blacklist and banned from re-entering the country, the BI chief added.
Records showed that Du was previously charged by the BI for being undocumented and for undesirability after being found to be working for an establishment allegedly involved in prostitution and labor exploitation.
He will remain in the BI’s facility until the implementation of his deportation.
