Bureau of Immigration (BI) operatives arrested three Chinese nationals found to be illegally staying in the Philippines.
BI-Intelligence division chief Fortunato ‘Jun’ Manahan, Jr. said that arrested last September 5 in a commercial building in Bangony, Davao City were Xu Yonglian, 38; Lin Jinxing, 42 and Cai Xiji, 44. The arrest was conducted by the BI intelligence division in Mindanao and BI regional intelligence operating unit 11, in coordination with the Philippine Army, the Air Force of the Philippines, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Sta. Ana Police Station, PNP Davao City Police Office, and government intelligence forces.
Manahan said Xu was found to be in misrepresenting himself as a Filipino and has used a Filipino name in business dealings in the area, despite holding a working visa petitioned by a company in Binondo, Manila. Lin, on the other hand, was caught working despite only holding a tourist visa. Cai was also found to be holding a working visa for another company located in Binondo, despite actually working in Davao.
All three were found to be in violation of Philippine immigration laws and were immediately arrested, Manahan added.
