The Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced its participation in the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Katarungan Caravan on July 4 2024, at the Dasmariñas Arena in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

The Katarungan Caravan is a key component of the DOJ’s efforts to bring essential government services closer to the public. This event will see various government agencies, including the BI, working together to provide a wide range of services directly to the community.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco highlighted the importance of the Bureau’s involvement in the caravan: “Our participation in the Katarungan Caravan underscores our commitment to public service and our support for the DOJ’s mission. By bringing our services directly to the people, we aim to make immigration processes more accessible and convenient.”

During the event, the BI will offer a variety of services, including tourist visa extension, application for dual citizenship, exit clearances, and other key immigration services.

This initiative is part of the DOJ’s Bagong Pilipinas Town Hall meeting, which is set to present the accomplishments, milestones, and reforms undertaken by the DOJ under the leadership of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” C. Remuilla in line with the ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ governance of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

Tansingco encouraged the public to take full advantage of this opportunity: “We invite everyone to visit the booths and avail themselves of the services provided by the Bureau of Immigration. This event not only showcases our commitment to transparency and accountability but also reinforces our dedication to serving the public efficiently.”

The Katarungan Caravan represents a collaborative effort by the DOJ and its constituent agencies, including the Land Registration Authority (LRA), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and Public Attorney’s Office (PAO). This unified approach aims to enhance community engagement and provide vital services in a more streamlined and effective manner.
