The Bureau of Immigration (BI) intelligence operatives successfully apprehended an overstaying Chinese national in Barangay Batiarao, Anda, Pangasinan last March 4.
BI intelligence operatives headed by Fortunato Manahan, Jr., in coordination with local law enforcement, conducted the operation early in the morning. At approximately 7:40 AM, the BI team, composed of BI operatives from RIOU1, RIOU3, RIOU-NCR, and BI Main Office, along with the Anda Municipal Police Station (MPS) and other local law enforcement units, proceeded to the target area.
The mission resulted in the arrest of Jiang Fangyuan, a 47-year-old male Chinese national who was found without a passport or valid immigration documents. He was taken into custody for overstaying in violation of Section 37(a)(7) of the Philippine Immigration Act.
