BI DEPORTS THREE JAPANESE NATIONALS

By: Jerry S. Tan

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) successfully implemented the deportation of three Japanese nationals—Koyama Tomohir, Nagaura Hirok, and Miura Eisei—on November 19, 2024.

BI spokesperson Dana Sandovavl said the deportees were turned over to the custody of Japanese police authorities and boarded Japan Airlines flight JL 746 bound for Tokyo.

Sandoval said the individuals were deported for violating the conditions of their stay, as stipulated under Section 37(a)(7) of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, and on grounds of undesirability. All three also have standing arrest warrants issued by Japanese authorities for alleged criminal acts, as confirmed through official records of the Japanese government.

This deportation was carried out in close coordination with the Japanese Embassy. Additionally, their names have been included in the BI’s blacklist to prevent their return to the Philippines.

Sandoval said the Bureau under Commissioner Anthony Viado remains committed to ensuring that foreign nationals within the country adhere to Philippine laws and regulations, in line with its mandate to safeguard the nation’s security and interests.
