BINALAAN ni Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) Chief Dennis Viaje ang publiko na mag-ingat laban sa umano’y ‘GO! Manila parking fee scam.
Ayon sa public advisory ng Manila City Government, napag-alamang nagreklamo sa tanggapan ni MPTB Chief Dennis Viaje ang ilang residente hinggil sa natatanggap nilang mga mapanlinlang na mensahe na nagsasabing mayroon silang hindi nabayarang parking fee, sa pamamagitan ng GO! Manila app..
Kapag pinindot umano ng residente ang link na kasama umano sa mensaheng natanggap, ang user ay ididirekta sa isang fraudulent website na humihingi ng detalye ng credit card para sa pagproseso ng bayad.
“The scam involves a text message stating that the recipient has an alleged violation with the City of Manila, along with a payment link: https://gomanlia.com/. The link directs users to a fraudulent website that requests credit card details for payment processing,” ayon sa advisory.
Ayon kay Viaje, ang naturang mensahe ay hindi opisyal na komunikasyon mula sa lokal na pamahalaan at ang naturang link ay bahagi lamang ng scam at hindi dapat na i-click.
“PLEASE BE ADVISED: This message is NOT an official communication from the City of Manila,” anang Manila LGU. “The provided link is part of a SCAM and should NOT be clicked. Do not enter any personal or payment information on the site,” saad pa nito.
Hinihikayat ni Viaje ang mga taong nakatanggap ng mensahe na huwag itong pansinin at kaagad na burahin na lamang.
“If you receive such a message, ignore and delete it immediately. For legitimate parking violations or payments, please verify through official City of Manila channels…Stay vigilant against phishing attempts. Report suspicious messages to the proper authorities,” ayon pa sa advisory.
