“The proper disposal of these items helps maintain the safety of local markets by ensuring that non-compliant goods are kept out of the supply chain,” ani Nepomuceno, na nag-atas din ng live streaming ng ‘condemnation’ upang mai-promote ang transparency at accountability ng BOC operations.
“Beyond the seizure of illicit goods, we must ensure their proper and safe disposal to prevent risk or harm to the public and the environment. In line with our commitment to uphold transparency and integrity in all customs operations, we are also implementing the live broadcast of every condemnation activity,” ani Nepomuceno.
“The condemnation was carried out pursuant to the provisions of Section 1145 of the CMTA, Customs Administrative Order 03-2020, and other relevant customs laws, rules, and regulations. The full live recording of the condemnation proceedings may still be viewed on the official Facebook page of the BOC – Port of Zamboanga via the following link: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1H2fduFprA/?mibextid=wwXIfr,” dagdag pa nito.
