FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – The Philippine Army joined the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) 88th Founding Anniversary through a Simultaneous Wreath-laying Ceremony at the Tomb of Unknown Soldiers, Libingan Ng Mga Bayani, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila .
The AFP Chief of Staff, Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., led the ceremony along with AFP Inspector General Lt. Gen. Steve Crespillo, Philippine Navy Flag Officer-In-Command, Vice Admiral Toribio D. Adaci Jr., Commanding General, Philippine Air Force Lt. Gen. Stephen P. Parreño, and Army Vice Commander Brig. Gen. Leodevic B. Guinid.
During the ceremony, Gen. Brawner offered the wreaths to the fallen troops who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. In his message, the CSAFP recognized the legacy and heroism of gallant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect and defend the country. “Today’s wreath-laying ceremony is not just a symbolic gesture. It is a solemn pledge to remember and honor those who have laid down their lives for the cost of freedom. May our nation continue to flourish under the watchful eyes of those who stand ready to protect it,” said the CSAFP.
