The Airport Police Department (APD) headed by Col. Bing Jose was commended by Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) general manager Eric Ines for helping the newly- arrived passengers, a family, recover their luggage left at the taxi compartment which they took from Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 to Seascape Village, Pasay City on June 2, 2024.

Sam Tyler and her family posted on Facebook on July 2 that they need help to retrieve their luggage because of some very important documents. In their post, she said that at 5:30 p.m. July 2, they took a taxi, a Randes Transport with plate no. ABE 2775 from NAIA Terminal 3 for Seascape Village in Pasay City.

When they reached the place and disembarked the taxi, just a few seconds later, the driver left, not minding that their luggage was still in his compartment.

Col. Jose saw the post and instructed APO1 Valencia to contact the complainant (Tyler) thru FB messenger to gather additional information related to the incident.

The Police Intelligence and Investigation Division (PIID) was directed by Jose to immediately review the CCTV and observed that the complainant along with her husband entered Departure Area, NAIA T3 at around 5:38 p.m. on July 2, 2024 and proceeded to arrival area to meet her newly-arrived sister, cousin and son.

Immediately thereafter, the white metered taxi with plate no. ABE 2775 and body name “Randes Transport” was alarmed by APD and tried to contact the operator.

At about 11:30 a.m. on July 4, 2024, Sam Tyler informed that the taxi dispatcher reached out to her on Facebook and affirmed that the recovered luggage and bag will be returned.

The taxi driver was identified as Ferdinand Ele who claimed that he did not notice that the passengers had left their baggage inside the compartment and was unable to locate the owner and decided to turn over the said luggage to their dispatcher’s address located in Bulacan.

The driver assured that they agreed with the complainant to return the luggage on July 5, 2024 at her sister’s address located in Pasay City and then posted on FB that their luggage was returned and thanked the airport police and MIAA administration.
