ANTI-POLIO DRIVE IN MINDORO, CAVITE, PASAY AND MANILA

In a historical commemoration of World Polio Day, the Rotary District International 3810 under Gov. Joyce Ambray conducted a synchronized Anti-Polio Drops Drive to 0-4 years old children in Mindoro, Cavite, Pasay, and Manila.

About 300 to 400 children from several Barangays in Pasay City have been protected against the crippling Poliovirus. The Pasay team headed by Phenomenal Leader President of the Rotary Club of Pasay Cyber City and JEPROCS (Joint Efforts of Pasay Rotary Clubs) Chairman Elmer Francis Pasion assembled community mobile teams composed of PLPs and Rotarians, Barangay Staff and Health Workers and organized a house to house activity to invite the parents and guardians of kids who have not received the Anti-Polio drops. The feisty but cute recipients were rewarded with snacks, toys, lootbags, and sticker. The activity was commended by Pasay Mayor Emie Calixto-Rubiano who also joined the Pasay Rotary Clubs at the Malibay Plaza Center to administer Polio Drops.

A motorcade along Roxas Boulevard towards Baseco, Manila followed to spread Anti-Polio awareness to the motorists and onlookers. The RI District 3810 End Polio Now Campaign concluded at the Baseco Area where Rotary Clubs of Manila also accomplished their own Anti-Polio Drops activities. (JERRY S. TAN)
