CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City–The Armed Forces of the Philippines welcomed new officers with the graduation of Officer Candidate Course (OCC) Class 60-2024 on June 15, 2024, at Camp O’Donnell, Tarlac City.
Secretary of National Defense Gilberto Teodoro Jr, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, emphasized the pace in which the military is responding to the present security situation in the region. He also urged the graduates to keep up and perform their sworn duties with dedication.
“Sa ilalim ng liderato ng ating Pangulo, ang Pilipino ay hindi umaatras, ang Pilipino ay hindi natitinag. Kaya tayuan natin ang ating sinumpaang katungkulan sa Saligang Batas nang tapat, malinis, at puno ng kakayahan,” he said.
The OCC Class 60-2024 graduates are now ready to serve in various roles within the Philippine Army, contributing to the nation’s security and stability.
A total of 273 new second lieutenants of the Officer Candidate Course (OCC) Class 60 “Aramsidlak” 2024 completed the one-year training for Army officers in a graduation ceremony graced by Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr.
The top professions of the newly-commissioned officers are teachers, engineers, and criminologists who hurdled the pre-entry course that includes a basic military training program, officer training program, and warfighting program.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido also reminded the new lieutenants to stay ready and be able on focusing what is necessary in the organization — “Always remember to pray. In moments of confusion or at personal or professional crossroads, prayer will be your best guide, the compass that will lead your way forward”.
