AFP UNVEILS NATIONAL RESERVIST WEEK 2023 ACTIVITIES

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City — Highlighting the role of reservists in nation-building, MGen Joel Alejandro Nacnac, Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs, J9 led the month-long celebration of the 44th National Reservist Celebration last weekend.

“This annual event also serves as a powerful reminder of the vital role played by our reservists across the country and recognizes their contribution and support to our national and local governments during emergencies, calamities, and disasters as well as in socio-economic development,” MGen Nacnac disclosesd in a press conference.


He was joined by Naval Reserve Commander, MGen Joseph Ferrous Cuison PN(M); Air Force Reserve Commander MGen Elpidio B Talja PAF; AFP Reserve Command, Commander, BGen Vicente Ronatay PN(M); and Chief, Governance Strategy and Management Office, Col Ronie Ebarita PA in introducing the objectives of the celebration with the theme, “AFP Reserve Force: Moving Towards Resilient Force Posture.”

“It is a call to action and at the same time, an inspiration for them to continue to commit themselves to the noble task of nation-building while advocating public support,” MGen Nacnac added.

Activities such as conventions, information campaigns, community outreach programs, and simultaneous fun runs were conducted during the National Reservist Week 2023 and will culminate on September 30.


The said activities highlight the importance of the country’s reserve force as an integral factor in fulfilling AFP’s mission to serve and protect the nation.
