The Armed Forces of the Philippines joined in the celebration of the 126th Anniversary of the Philippine Navy on May 24, 2024, at its Headquarters in Roxas Blvd, Manila.
The event was graced by the Secretary of National Defense Gilberto Teodoro Jr. as the Guest of Honor, who was accompanied by General Romeo Brawner Jr., AFP Chief of Staff. Together they lauded the Philippine Navy’s vital role in national security and its utmost commitment in safeguarding the country’s maritime interests.
In his message, Secretary Teodoro Jr. praised the achievements and importance of modernizing the fleet to address emerging security challenges. He also emphasized collective action to make the country stable and progressive based on the ability to uphold the law in compliance with the Philippine constitution.
The celebration reflects the AFP’s recognition of the Philippine Navy’s contributions being at the forefront of protecting the country’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
