CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City–The Armed Forces of the Philippines participated in the 126th anniversary of Philippine Independence, culminating in the Simultaneous Flag Raising & Wreath Laying ceremony led by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at the Rizal National Monument in Manila City.

In his address, President Marcos Jr. reaffirmed his solidarity with the Filipino people in commemorating the historic event, highlighting the enduring legacy of the proclamation of Philippine independence in Kawit, Cavite, 126 years ago. He commended the unwavering nationalism of Filipinos and urged dedication to building a progressive and independent nation.

“We see it in the resilience of our farmers and fisherfolks as they provide us sustenance. We see it in the dedication of our teachers as they nurture the minds of the future generation. We see it in the tenacity of our soldiers as they protect every inch of our territory, adamant as they are in the certainty that Filipinos do not, and shall never, succumb to oppression,” he said.

The participation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the 126th Philippine Independence Day celebration underscores the collective effort to honor the sacrifices of past generations and uphold the principles of freedom and democracy.
