CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines has dedicated transport flights to its personnel who avail of rest and recreation (R&R) after several months of deployment in far-flung areas.
A total of 41 troops who are deployed in the province of Sulu under the Philippine Army’s 11th Infantry Division were transported through the Philippine Air Force C295 plane and brought to Isabela on March 15 to enjoy their much-deserved vacation with their families and loved ones. R&R is a privilege given to soldiers after long months of deployment and combat duty.
The R&R Flight is one of the AFP leadership initiatives to boost further the troops’ morale in appreciation of their sacrifices and contribution to peace and security campaign. The AFP recognizes the importance of providing the necessary support to our ground troops, who often had to bear long periods of separation from their loved ones to be able to perform their sworn duty to the country.
The ferried soldiers, whose families are based in Northern Luzon, were warmly welcomed by their families upon arrival in Isabela
“Napakapalad natin sapagkat sa kabila ng mga hamong pang transportasyon na hinaharap ng ating sandatahang lakas, ipinagkaloob sa atin ang oportunidad na ito. Patunay lamang na ang inyong morale at welfare and prayoridad ng ating higher headquarters,”pahayag ni Brig. Gen. Antonio I. Bautista Jr., Assistant Division Commander ng 11ID.
“Maraming salamat sa libreng sakay kung saan malaking tipid po ito para sa amin at mas napadali ang aming pagbyahe pauwi sa aming mga pamilya,” a benificiary soldiers answered.
The Rest and Recreation Flight is an initiative of Gen. Andres C. Centino, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines as one way to appreciate the sacrifices of the troops in the peace and security campaign in the province of Sulu. It is also a great help for the troops to speed up their return with their respective families.(VICTOR BALDEMOR RUIZ)
