PD-PIID NABS FEMALE THIEF AT NAIA 3

Members of the Airport Police Department-Police Intelligence and Investigation Department (APD-PIID) of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), in cooperation with the Quezon City Police, arrested a certain Juvy Banaag y Zamora, 49 years old and from Bulacan, who allegedly ran away with the luggage of two Overseas Filipino Workers from Spain and from Hong Kong.

APD-PIID Chief Col. Bing Jose said they arrested Juvy Banaag after two OFWs from Spain and Hong Kong who arrived last May 4, 2023 complained that their luggage was taken away by a suspect which later identified as Juvy Banaag whom they met at the airport and introduced herself as OFW who just arrived.

The two OFWs victimized told Jose that Banaag was friendly that they entrusted their belongings to her when they went to the ladies room.


When they came back, she was no longer in the area and their luggage was also taken by the suspect who took a taxicab.

Col. Jose requested the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) official at the NAIA Terminal 3 to review the incident and to take a look at the driver of the taxi which the suspect boarded and later on, they found out that Banaag was dropped in a hotel in Quezon City where the police arrested her around 11 a.m. on Friday May 5, 2023.


The OFW victim is identified as Brenda Santos, 40 years old, of Zamboanga, who arrived at NAIA Terminal 3 last May 4, 2023 on board Turkish Airlines.

Santos said that about P150,000 pesos worth was in her luggage including cash, clothes, employment and travel documents.


Jose said Banaag is now detained at the MIAA detention cell and the victim is willing to press charges against the suspect who will face theft charges before the Pasay City or Quezon City Prosecutors Office.
