A MILESTONE IN AVIATION SECURITY: JOINT INTEROPERABILITY ENHANCEMENT EXERCISE

Through the initiative of PNP-Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP) chief, PBGen Christopher N. Abarahano, the Interoperability Exercises between the PNP Aviation Security Group, Joint Special Operations Group of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and 710th Special Operations Wing of the Philippine Air Force commenced with a Kick-Off Ceremony on June 18, 2024, at the PNP AVSEGROUP headquarters, Crash Gate 1, NAIA Complex, Pasay City.

The activity aims to feature a diverse range of knowledge and skill exchanges and focuses on enhancing responses to crises and emergencies, particularly at the country’s airports.


The closing ceremony of the very first Interoperability Enhancement Exercises commenced on June 28, 2024, held at Botton Ramp, Subic Bay International Airport, Morong, Bataan, which was attended by Abarahano, members of the Command Group and other PNP AVSEGROUP key officers, observers from Quezon City Police District SWAT and Special Action Force, Joint Special Operations Group of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and 710th Special Operations Wing of the Philippine Air Force led by 710th Special Operations Wing Commander Brigadier General Antonio Z. Francisco Jr.

“This milestone proudly showcases the elite forces of the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group – Special Operations Unit, the versatile skills of the Armed Forces of the Philippines – Joint Special Operations Group, and the strategic expertise of the Philippine Air Force – 710th Special Operations Wing. Through this initiative, these elite units are poised to operate in partnership, harmonize their expertise, resources, and efforts toward achieving shared objectives and enhancing national security,” Abrahano said.

Abarahano stated that the interoperability exercises shall be the ray of hope for a safer future and now shines brighter than ever, as the partnership built during the enhancement exercise will transcend boundaries through our unwavering commitment to prevent, prepare for, and respond to acts of terrorism in our airports across the country.
