May 98 mula sa kabuuang 122 newly-appointed at promoted prosecutors ng departamentoang pormal nang nanumpa kahapon sa Department of Justice (DOJ).
Napag-alaman sa DOJ na mula sa naturang 122 prosecutors, 54 ang bagong prosecutors na itinalaga ni Pangulong Marcos noong nakaraang buwan, habang 68 naman ang binigyan ng promosyon ng National Prosecutors Service (NPS).
Napag-alaman na lima sa kanila ay kasalukuyang nag-oopisina sa Office of the Secretary of Justice Prosecution Staff (OSJPS), habang ang iba pa ay itatalaga naman sa mga prosecution offices sa Regions 1 hanggang 4, gayundin sa National Capital Region (NCR).
Ayon sa DOJ, si Justice Undersecretary Nicholas Felix Ty ang nagpanumpa sa tungkulin sa mga prosecutors.
Samantala, hindi nakarating ngunit nagpaabot si Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla ng mensahe para sa mga naturang prosecutors.
Sa kanyang mensahe, hinihikayat ni Remulla ang mga bagong prosecutors na yakapin ang kanilang mga tungkulin.
“You are not just legal professionals; you are the gatekeepers of criminal justice,” ani Remulla.
“You hold a critical role in ensuring that the rule of law is upheld, that therights of individuals are protected and that justice is served without fear or favor,” dagadg pa nito.
“Remember that your work has a profound impact on the lives of individuals, families, and communities…strive for excellence in everything you do, uphold the highest ethical standards, and never lose sight of the importance of your role in upholding the rule of law,” pahayag pa ni Remulla.
Napag-alaman na ang appointment at promotion ng mga nasabing prosecutors ay ang kauna-unahan sa ilalim ng pamumuno nina Pangulong Marcos at Remulla.
Samantala, nagpahayag ng kumpiyansa ang DOJ na makakatulong ang appointment at promotion ng mga naturang prosecutors para mapagaan ang trabaho ng NPS, na magreresulta naman sa mas mabilis na resolusyon ng mga kaso sa bansa.
