A TOTAL of 7,123 individuals or 2,134 families were rendered homeless in a nine-hour fire that hit a populous residential area the other day in Parola Compound, San Nicolas in Binondo, Manila.
The families are currently housed at the Delpan Evacuation Center after the Manila Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) declared a ‘fire out’ at 12:17 a.m.
It was learned that the fire occured at around 3 p.m. and reached the third alarm, spreading quickly since most of the houses were made of light materials.
No one was reported killed or injured in the said fire and probers are yet to come up with an estimated damage to property.
Arson investigators are also still trying to establish the cause of fire.
