Ibinunyag ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla na sa kabila ng 75 miyembro ng kanyang security mula sa Philippine National Police (PNP) ang inalis ay may natitira pang 320 security personnel na patuloy na nagbibigay ng seguridad kay Vice President Sara Duterte.
Sa isang press briefing ay inihayag ni Remulla na ang 320 security personnel ni Duterte ay mas malaki pa kumpara sa security personnel na nakatalaga kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
“She still has 320 security personnel despite the PNP pullout. That’s more than the President,” ani Remulla bagamat tumanggi si Remulla na sabihin ang bilang ng security detail ni Marcos dahil sa security concerns.
“We can’t discuss that. The President’s security is institutionalized by the Presidential Security Group (PSG),” ani Remulla.
Ginawa ni Remulla ang pahayag nang ito ay tanungin kaugnay sa desisyon ng PNP na i-reassign ang 75 personnel na bahagi ng security force ni VP Duterte.
Bago niyan, umapela si Duterte ng dagdag na security officers para sa kaligtasan ng kanyang pamilya.
” I have only one request from you: the safety of my family. Do not allow any violence to befall my mother, husband and four children, either in person or online. And, in any case, do not turn a blind eye to anyone who would do harm against them,” ayon kay Duterte.
Ayon sa ulat ng Commission on Audit (COA) noong 2022 ng Office of the Vice President (OVP), ang Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group ay may 433 miyembro na majority sa 683 OVP staff.
