INALIS na ng Department of Justice (DOJ),ang may 29 na kaso ng extra-judicial killings at torture sa mga kaso nirerebisa ng ahensiya.
Ayon kay Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra,ito ay dahil sa kawalan ng mga testigo.
“Those were very old cases where no witnesses could be found despite diligent efforts of our special investigation teams. And there were many cases where the complainants desisted from pressing charges,” ayon kay Guevarra.
Ayon kay Guevarra marami sa mga naunang mga kaso ay nalasama sa Administrative Order No. 35 kung saan sa ilalim ng AO 35, ang Inter-Agency Committee On Extra-Legal Killings, Enforced Disappearances, Torture, at iba panh Grave Violations ng Right to Life, Liberty and Security of Persons (IAC) ay binuo.
Ang pinakamatandang kaso ay nangyari noong 2002.
Samantalq, sinabi ni Guevarra na ang inter-agency special composite teams mula sa Department of National Defense, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, National Bureau of Investigation, at Commission on Human Rights ang nagre-review sa mga kaso ng 352 na napatay sa anti-drug operation ng mga pulis mula noong 2016.
Lumabas sa imbestigasyon na 52 drug war case na negatibo sa gun powder nitrates ang mga suspek na inaakusahan na nanlaban.
Ayon kay Guevarra kinakailangan umano ng pag aproba ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte bago mailabas ang resulta ng mga nalalabing kaso na nirerebisa.
Nalaman na inihahanda na ni Duterte ang kanyang depensa sa posibleng indictment sa isinagawang imbestigasyon ng International Criminal Court (ICC) pagkatapos niyang bumaba sa poder sa Hunyo 30,2022. (Arsenio Tan)
