The influential Commission on Appointments (CA) approved the ad interim appointments and nomination of 11 Philippine Navy Flag and General officers the other day.
The CA panel also gave consent to the nomination of Rear Adm. Caesar Bernard N Valencia, Superintendent, Philippine Military Academy for promotion to the rank of Vice Admiral for approval of the President.
The CA panel conifirmed the ad interim appointments of the following PN officers:
• Vice Adm. Alfonso Torres Jr., Commander, Western Command, AFP
• Rear Adm. Francisco Tagamolila Jr., Commander, Naval Forces Western Mindanao
• Rear Adm. Roy Vincent Trinidad, The Naval Inspector General
• Rear Adm. Joe Anthony Orbe, Commander, Naval Education, Training and Doctrines Command
• Commo. Vincent Sibala, Commander, Littoral Combat Force, Philippine Fleet
• Commo. Diosdado Caluya Jr., The Naval Internal Auditor
• Commo. Felipe Bautista, Commander, Communications, Electronic and Information System Service, AFP
• Commo. Constancio Arturo Reyes, Deputy Commander for External Defense Operations, Western Command, AFP
• Brigadier Gen. Ferdinand Marcelino, The Provost Marshal General, AFP
• Commo. Emilio Orio, Commander, Naval Air Wing, Philippine Fleet
The confirmation of the appointments and nomination of the said PN officers reflects the effective practice of meritocracy within the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
“Today, we are taking cognizance of the remarkable accomplishments of these officers who have dedicated their lives in defending our nation and protecting our people. They performed critical roles as our military continues to strengthen its capability and warfighting functions in view of existing and emerging threats,” said CA member, Rep. Raul Tupas.
