Congressman Yul Servo beams after receiving his award. (TSJ)


MANILA Congressman Yul Servo (3rd district) , who is currently running as Vice Mayor alongside Mayoral candidate Honey Lacuna, vowed that he will render the kind of service that is God-based and people-based once he becomes the city’s vice mayor.

Servo made this pronouncement after receiving the award as 5th Asia-Pacific Luminare Award’s “Most Remarkable Actor” and “Outstanding Public Sevant of the Year.”

In his speech, Servo congratulated his fellow awardees and thanked the award-giving body on their fifth year of granting awards to those who deserve to be recognized for their efforts in various fields of endeavor.

“Bilang isang artista at lingkod-bayan, wala akong ibang hangarin kundi snh pagbutihin at higitan ang aking sarili sa aking mga gawain at ang award na ito ay magiging inspirasyon ko na pagbutihan ang paglilingkod nag may takot sa Panginoon para sa ikabubuti ng Maynila,” he added.

Servo, a criminology graduate, served as City Councilor for three consecutive terms and is currently a Congressman representing the same district.

In Congress, he serves as deputy majority leader and passed many laws that are now being implemented.

Just like Mayor Isko Moreno, who is currently seeking the Presidency, Servo was also an actor before joining politics. (Baby Cuevas)
