MANILA Mayor Honey Lacuna said she aims to strengthen the city’s vaccination efforts even more, with the wearing of face masks outdoors now already made voluntary.
The lady mayor reminded Manilans that with the face mask mandate already lifted, the best protection would be to get fully vaccinated and boosted.
“Lagi nating tatandaan… dahil walang mask, ang best protection ay pagiging fully vaccinated at booster bilang pinakamabisang panlaban sa COVID-19,” she said.
Lacuna also stressed that the mandatory wearing of masks remains in closed areas.
Lacuna particularly cited the anticipated crowd situation in the busy Divisoria and Recto areas specially with the onset of the Christmas season
According to Lacuna, the number of fully vaccinated in Manila has already reached 1,637,191 with over 3.5 million total of vaccines administered so far.
Since the pandemic began, Lacuna had been advocating that “vaccination is the solution,” saying it is still the best defense against the coronavirus and if one still gets infected, it would just be mild or asymptomatic case.
It was learned that the the vaccines being used now are Sinovac, Pfizer and Astra Zeneca. (Baby Cuevas)
