WITH the May 9 elections just around the corner, the growing list of celebrities and social media influencers endorsing the presidential bid of Mayor Isko Moreno have become more vocal in urging the electorate to vote for the Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer, saying he is the right man to lead the Philippines towards a better future.
Among them are social media influencer Bryan Cristobal, better known as Banat By; musician Jimmy Bondoc; singer-songwriter Quest; Jay Manalo; and Billy Joe Crawford.
Cristobal, who was once a big basher of Mayor Isko and was initially close to the camp of Ferdinand Marcos Jr., said he is now urging people to vote for Moreno because his leadership, vision, and many accomplishments in Manila speaks to the character of the man needed to lead the country.
“Nakita talaga namin ang pagbabago sa Maynila. Napaka-humble na mama. Napakalayo ng karakter ni Yorme sa ibang kandidato. Pagdating sa botohan, sabihan niyo sa kamag-anak niyo, doon tayo sa totoong public servant. Yon po ay si Yorme, wala na pong iba. Kitang-kita natin sa Maynila yan,” he said.
Bondoc, who also admitted to have switched to Mayor Isko, said a lot of deep thinking and long prayers made him realize that Moreno is the most-worthy candidate to be the next President of the Republic. “Nag-isip po ako kung sino talaga ang nararapat, Pagkatapos po ng napakaraming pagdarasal, ang akin pong napagtanto-tanto, si Isko lamang ang nararapat na maging pangulo ng Pilipinas,” he said.
Bondoc thus urged the Isko faithful not to be intimidated by the bullying tactics employed by the camps of Marcos Jr. and Robredo, saying it is now time for them to shout out loud their chosen candidate.
Manalo said voters should choose Mayor Isko because the former scavenger-turned public servant is the only one with the real heart for the masses.
“Maka-diyos, makatao, pinakita niya sa buong Manila kung paano siya tumulong, totoong-totoo. Iyan po si Isko. Kaya ito pong darating na halalan, switch to Isko. Mahal niya kayo, mahal niya ang sambayanang Pilipino,” he said.
For his part, Quest said he has seen everything Mayor Isko has done, which all proved that Moreno is not just a promise guy, but a prototype guy.
“From his crisis management, from whatever he has built, what he has established and how he has restored Manila, that’s enough for me to speak up about him. I’m not just voting Isko Moreno Domagoso the person, I’m voting for his vision, I’m voting for his capabilities. I’m voting for what he has done, I’m banking for what he has done,” he said.
Meanwhile, Crawford said he is rallying behind Mayor Isko because he wanted real change, not just in words, but also in action.
“Kailangan natin ng simpleng gobyerno para sa ikauunlad ng bawat Pilipino. Kailangan natin ng lider na kayang humarap sa anumang pagsubok. Lider na kayang punan ang pangangailangan ng mga mahihirap. Lider na sa tingin ko nagpapahalaga sa edukasyon at lider na kailangang ipaglaban ang ating bayan. Kaya ako sa darating na Mayo masasabi ko, Isko ako,” he said.
They are just among the many celebrities and social media personalities who have thrown their full support behind the young and charismatic presidential candidate, and have vouched for Mayor Isko’s competence, sincerity and integrity as a leader.
Award-winning veteran actress and Deputy House Speaker Vilma Santos-Recto was among the earliest celebrity to support Moreno’s presidential bid, saying she saw mayor Isko’s “focus and sincerity as a leader” amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“Mayor Isko is an inspiring and God-loving leader and we can see his drive to serve the Filipino people with a heart, hope, and action. With what he did to Manila, especially during this pandemic, we saw his focus and sincerity as a leader,” she said.
Actress Vivian Velez, who heads the Isko Tayo Coalition said “it is no-brainer for us to choose Isko because we think he is the best candidate for president.” Velez said.
Meanwhile, Mocha Uson praised Mayor Isko as “a man of action who has the proven ability to lead and fulfill his promises to the people.”
Actress, commercial model, and former host of GMA Network Arianne Bautista said she witnessed first-hand Domagoso’s hard work in bringing change to the City of Manila despite his short term as mayor.
Model and host Christine Samson, on the other hand, said she believes the incumbent Manila mayor is the best man for the job owing to his background, success story rising from poverty and his sincerity in serving the poor.
Actor and social media influencer Jericho Arceo said Mayor Isko is simply a game-changer with his pandemic response, financial assistance, housing projects, and health care system for the people of Manila and nearby areas.
Instagram star and model Keana Louise de Leon said she has high hopes that Moreno will bring what the country and its people need through his 10-point Bilis Kilos Economic Agenda.
Gaming and video creator Maine Eugenio joined her fellow influencers in vouching for Domagoso and his programs on housing, education, schools, health care, and employment.
Other celebrities such as Lou Veloso, Rez Cortes, Mikee Quintos, Aljur Abrenica, Pio Balbuena, Charlie Fry, singer-comedian-host KitKat, actress and StarStruck finalist Diva Montelaba, and social media influencer KimShy Moves, among others, have also expressed full support for Moreno’s presidential bid.
On the other hand, others like Luke Mejares, Wendell Ramos, Basilio and Smugglaz, YoungOne, Range999, Hotdog, South Border, Sex Bomb New Generation and Mocha Girls are regularly seen in Mayor Isko’s rallies throughout the country.
