MAYOR HONEY REPORTS FRUITFUL FIRST 100 DAYS

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna reported that her first 100 days in office that was marked last October 8, 2022 had been ‘fruiftul’ and not marred by any hitches.

She also declared that a “magnificent Manila’ is what her administration aims to achieve in the next few years, with its lined-up programs aimed at creating a better city in all aspects, including the lives of its people.

The lady mayor said the transition went very smooth since she was already part and parcel of everything that took place during the past administration, being the Vice Mayor and active working partner of former Mayor Isko Moreno.

Lacuna, who also served as the concurrent Presiding Officer of the Manila City Council then, took active part in all of the significant projects of the previous administration through the positions she held.

Apart from this, she, as a doctor, was also supervising the health cluster of the city that included the city-run-hospitals, health centers and the COVID-19 approach.

Lacuna said she kickstarted her administration with cleanup activities beginning in the City Hall itself, noting that a clean workplace and surroundings is a reflection of the kind of services that the city will offer its citizens.

“Ang kalinisan ay repleksyon ng uri ng serbisyo natin sa ating nasasakupan. Sino ang maniniwala na kaya nating ayusin ang lungsod kung sarili nating kapaligiran ay di natin maayos?,” she said.

The lady mayor said her young administration was highlighted by the efforts to bring the city government closer to the people through the regular forum in barangays and zones called “Kalinga sa Maynila.” It is a venue the ordinary residents get a chance to interact and bring up their problems, issues and concerns and the city government is able to respond outright.

Lacuna also cited that her administration has continued the provision of monthly financial aid to senior citizens, PWDs, solo parents and university students, along with the continued aggressive approach against COVID-19, infrastructure projects like mass housing, schools and hospitals.

She also announced that the Ospital ng Maynila and Baseco Hospital are expected to open soon, while the schools that are now under rehabilitation will be opening in July next year.

“Maari kong sabihin na naging makabuluhan ang aking first 100 days in office dahil na rin sa tulong bg bawat isa sa inyo…Naging madali ang ating transition dahil nung ako ay Vice Mayor ay ginawa akong working partner ni Mayor Isko Moreno, kaya lahat ng proyekto aty tuloy-tuloy pa rin, isang bagay na ipinangako ko ating mga kababayan,” she said.
