Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna ordered the management of the Manila North Cemetery (MNC) and the Manila South Cemetery to provide free rides through the use of e-trikes for senior citizens and persons with disability (PWDs) from October 29 to November 2.

The mayor and Vice Mayor Yul Servo-Nieto, accompanied by MNC Director Yayay Castaneda, made the rounds of the MNC and specifically visited the comfort rooms to ensure that they are all working, along with the portalets readied for the expected influx of visitors.

Lacuna said the two cemeteries will be open to the public from 5 a.m. up to 5 p.m. only and that overnight stay will not be allowed.

She also said that vehicles and vendors will not be allowed inside the cemetery as she advised the public to bring their own food.

Only children 12 years old or older who are fully vaccinated will be allowed inside the cemeteries provided they can present proof of vaccination while the “no mask, no entry” policy will also be strictly enforced and masks will be provided at the entrance of both cemeteries for those not wearing any facemask or who did not bring one.
