MANILA-BASED GROUPS CALL ON DEFEATED LACUNA RIVALS TO MOVE ON INSTEAD OF CONTINUING TO SPREAD LIES

VARIOUS organizations based in Manila have called on defeated mayoral candidate Alex Lopez to move on, instead of attempting to sow divisiveness in the city by making baseless accusations and spreading lies.

The groups, composed mostly of youngsters and senior citizens with hundreds of thousands of membership who have helped propel Lacuna to mayorship, said it is clear from the very start that the Asenso Manileno team led by now Mayor-Elect Honey Lacuna and Vice Mayor-Elect Yul Servo is the only choice of Manilans to lead them at least in the next nine years.

The said groups led by My Honey Lacuna Movement and Followers of VM Honey Lacuna, also note that among the candidates for mayor, it is only Lacuna who can ably run the capital city of Manila, considering what she had done for the city and its residents at the height of the pandemic.

They also noted the role that she played in the success of the programs undertaken by the administration of Mayor Isko Moreno.

As Vice Mayor, Lacuna had always been extolled by Moreno for her support and for being with him every step of the way, as his administration faced the difficulties brought on by the pandemic.

As a doctor, Lacuna, he said, had been a huge help as she lent her expertise in the choice of proper equipments, medicines and actions to address the pandemic.

Lacuna also lent great support as Presiding Officer of the Manila City Council, convening the body and summoning the Councilors in attendance to ensure the swift passage of ordinances that are needed to enable the city government to take action on the problems at hand.

Particularly, Lacuna’s role in the approval of the social amelioration program which provided monthly allowances for the sectors most displaced by the pandemic was highly commended by the mayor. These sectors are the senior citizens, solo parents, university students and persons with disability.

The organizations supporting Lacuna said the residents of Manila are fully aware that among the candidates for mayor, it was only Lacuna who helped and did many things for them.

“We all went for Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna. Siyempre, dun kami sa may pruweba at tunay na kakayanan. Sana maging makatotohanan na lamang si Alex Lopez dahil ultimo sa sarili niyang distrito di siya nanalo nung tumakbo siyang Congressman,” the groups said.

Lacuna received 538,595 votes while Lopez was a very distant second with only 166,908 votes, for a staggering difference of 3781,687 votes.

The third placer, Amado Bagatsing, got 118,694 votes. If the votes of Lopez and Bagatsing were added together, Lacuna would still enjoy anoverwhelming lead of 252,993 votes in total. (Baby Cuevas)
