Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna said the city government of Manila almost spent nothing for the successul celebration of the city’s 453rd founding annviersary, as she also thanked the private individuals and organizations that helped make the affair successful.
“Maraming maraming salamat sa mga kaibigan at grupong tumulong. Halos wala po tayong ginastos,” Lacuna said.
She thanked the city officials, employees and residents of Manila for supporting and cooperating in the activities to make the celebration a successful one.
The mayor said that because of the help given by the private sector, the city was able to celebrate without much expenses, saying the local government is very careful when it comes to spending city funds.
Lacuna said that the activities held in the city lasted for the entire month of June, leading up the anniversary day itself on June 24.
The activities, she added, were4 even extended beyond June 24, making this year’s celebration of the ‘Araw ng Maynila’ last for the full whole month of June.
