ISANG mahigpit na babala sa publiko ang inilabas ng pamahalaang-lokal ng Maynila laban sa mga dating konektado sa Muslim Affairs Office ng Maynila na ginagamit ang tanggapan sa pagso-solicit ng mga donasyon.
“This is to inform the public that Manila Muslim Affairs Office is now headed by Moh’d Yamen Datu Zacaria. With this, all transactions with the previous officer-in-charge after June 30, 2024 is NOT CONNECTED with the city government of Manila.
Furthermore, the “Office of the Mayor- Manila Muslim Affairs” Facebook page is NOT AN AUTHORIZED ACCOUNT representing the office,” pahayag ni Lacuna sa kanyang public advisory.
Tiniyak din ng alkalde sa mga Muslim community members sa Maynila na sa pamamagitan ni Zacaria, ang kanyang administrasyon ay magiging bukas lagi sa lahat ng mungkahi at panukala kung paano maging ‘welcoming and open capital city’ sa mga ‘peace-loving’ na mga residente at bisita ng pananampalatayang Islam.
Inatasan ni Lacuna si Zacaria na makipagtulungan sa mga local Muslim leaders kung paano mas lalong mapagbubuti ang selebrasyon ng Eid’l Fitr at Eid’l Adha, gayundin ang ilan pang mahahalagang okasyon ng mga Muslim sa lungsod.
“In this regard, I would like to clarify that the previous Muslim Affairs OIC has not been connected with the City of Manila since June 30, 2024. Any transactions made with her after her contract was not renewed are not in any way connected with the city government. We also advise the public to beware of unauthorized Facebook pages claiming to represent the Office of Muslim Affairs,” pahayag pa ng alkalde.
Idinagdag pa ni Lacuna na: “Moving forward, we will continue to consult with the local Muslim community on how to better serve their needs. Through our district congressmen, we are keen on eventually having more Shariah courts in Manila.”
Tiniyak din niya na ang pamahalaang-lungsod ay layuning palawigin ang pagkakaroon sa lungsod ng mga ‘halal products’ sa Maynila upang makasapat sa tumataas na pangangailangan ng ‘halal food’ sa Metro Manila.
“This initiative will not only serve our Muslim residents and visitors but also create more job opportunities for Filipino Muslims,” ayon kay Lacuna.
