I WILL BE A ‘COLOR BLIND’ PRESIDENT — ISKO

AKSYON Demokratiko standard bearer Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said he will be a ‘color blind’ President, as he assured that he will be a unifying leader who is willing and ready to work with anybody for the good of the country and all Filipinos.
Moreno said he is running not just to stop or exact revenge on anybody but to do his best to pluck Filipinos out of poverty and the quagmire that has resulted from the bickering of two political camps for the past three decades or so.

“Under my Presidency, may awa ang Diyos, wala tayong titignang kulay. Walang pula, walang dilaw. I can work with anybody,” Moreno said.

He also said that he is in fact willing to give cabinet positions to non-partymates for as long as they are the best qualified for the post and are willing to set political colors aside and work hard for the government and the citizens.

Moreno expressed fear that if any of the two candidates belonging to the warring political camps for 35 years will become President, there will once again be no peace in the country.

He said it would be expected that there will be acts of vengeance and continuing destabilization efforts, among others, which would hamper the progress of the country.

“Tama na. Nakakapagod na. Iba naman. If you want peace of mind, I am offering myself,” Moreno said.

Moreno likewise cited the accomplishments achieved in Manila for only two years and the many awards reaped by his administration for the numerous achievements specially in addressing the pandemic in so short a time, citing the support he got from Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna as head of the health cluster and Presiding Officer of the Manila City Council.

This, he said, is in great part because when he won as mayor, the first thing he did was reach out a hand of friendship to his political foes instead of engaging in vengeance.

Moreno said he plans to bring to all Filipinos in the whole nation and even abroad, the benefits that are now being enjoyed by the residents of Manila like the monthly allowances for senior citizens, solo parents, university students and persons with disabilities, free hospital services, free education and free mass housing but in condominium buildings, among many others.

In terms of pandemic response, Manila is the only city that provides free RT-PCR testing even for non-residents as well as free quarantine facilities, expensive anti-COVID medicines and hospital services at the Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital that has 344 beds in all. (Baby Cuevas)
