MAYORALTY candidate Doktora Honey Lacuna debunked on Monday, March 28, the claims that she was a spare tire under the current administration of the City of Manila.
The door-to-door Doktora said that she has been part of the implementation of the policies and programs of the nation’s capital.
As Presiding Officer of the Sangguniang Panglungsod, she was instrumental in the expeditious passing of key ordinances that paved the way for the immediate response to the pandemic and important needs of the City.
“Hindi ako naging spare tire kailanman,” Lacuna said.
“Hindi ko ni minsan naramdaman na iba akong tao kasi lagi ko ngang sinasabi na iyong samahan namin ni Yorme ay higit pa sa pulitika, pangalawang pamilya na kami ni Yorme,” she added.
The Asenso Manileno’s standard bearer then credited Presidential candidate and Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso for his trust during the local party’s grand proclamation rally.
“Ang aking taos pusong pasasalamat sa ating Punong Lungsod sa iyong pag-alalay at pagkilala sa akin bilang iyong kaagapay at di spare tire lamang,” Lacuna said.
“Tulad nga ng madalas mong sinasabi, dito sa Maynila, ang lahat ay pantay-pantay. Di naging batayan ang aking pagiging babae,” she added.
Lacuna is currently on her second term as the Manila City Vice Mayor and the Presiding Officer of the City Council.
From 2019 to 2021 alone, the council has passed over 205 city ordinances. As a doctor, Lacuna was tasked to supervise the six district hospitals to ensure the effective implementation of the city’s health program.
She further led the COVID-19 vaccination program of the city and accommodated request of medical drugs such as Tocilizumab and Remdesivir by the general public. (Baby Cuevas)
