MAYOR Honey Lacuna began her administration with a surprise inspection of several offices within the Manila City Hall to personally see their state and how they can still be improved.
Lacuna said that she is starting her term with promoting among her fellow workers in the city government, particularly at the Manila City Hall, the importance of orderliness and cleanliness right within their offices and workplaces.
According to Lacuna, each official and employee must treat the area where he works as he would treat his own home.
“Naniniwala ako na ang kalinisan at kaayusan ay hindi bagay na likas sa kaugalian, bagkus ito ay dapat natututunan at nakasasanayan. Dapat natin itong linangin, isabuhay at palagiang gawin, nang sa gayon, magkakaroon tayo ng isang positibong kaugalian na mapanatili sa ating isip at puso ang masaya, malusog, simple, maayos at kasiya-siyang kapaligiran,” she stated.
The first lady mayor of Manila said that her governance will be guided by a quote from a book titled, “Dream Big: See Your Bigger Picture!” authored by Israelmore Ayivor.
The quote says: “Be inspired, raising the bar of excellence in your life every day. Act better than before; grow higher than usual; think faster than normal.”
Lacuna also said she will try hard to continuously raise the bar of public service in the city through efficient, effective and swift delivery of all kinds of services needed by the residents.
She stated that her co-workers in the local government of Manila and the residents of the city will serve as her daily inspiration as she discharges her functions.
“Nasa akin man ang katungkulan, pero nasa inyo ang higit na kapangyarihan. Magiging matagumpay lamang ang ating pamamahala kung kaisa ko ang bawat isang Manilenyo at Manilenya,” Lacuna stressed as she asked all of them to give her their wholehearted and full support, help and cooperation.
“Humaharap ako sa inyo, bilang isang ate, bilang isang ina, ang inyong door to door na doktora, at ang inyong kauna-unahang babaeng Mayor ng Maynila. Kasama ang ating bagong Bise Alkalde Yul Servo Nieto, at ang lahat ng mga Konsehal na bubuo sa ikalabing dalawang Sangguniang Panglungsod ng Maynila. Manalig at magtiwala tayo sa isa’t isa. Sama-sama tayo sa pagpapatuloy ng maayos na pamamahala para sa mas masigla at maunlad na Bagong Maynila,” the mayor further said.
