GO MANILA APP NOW ISSUES E-SOA AND E-RECEIPTS FOR REAL PROPERTY TAX PAYMENTS

Real property owners in Manila were urged by Mayor Honey Lacuna to pay online, saying the system had been improved better since e-statements of account (SOAs) and e-receipts are now being isused online too.

Lacuna said there are now two ways to pay the real property tax (RPT), which can either ba manual or through online, via the Go Manila app, explaining that with the online system, one can just use a cellphone, Ipad, or computer to apply for RPT and using the app, can just click away until payment is done and a corresponding receipt had been issued.

With regard to manual payment, Lacuna cited the hassle of having to go all the way to the Manila City Hall and once there, inquiring where to proceed to pay their RPT and then having to line up to get their SOA and then again, to pay.

“Ito po ang iniiwasan natin kaya ine-encourage natin ang ating mga kababayan na gusto nang magbayad ng RPT to go online kasi ang kagandahan ng online, may binibigay nang e-SOA at e-receipt,” she said.

“Once you have entered the Go Manila app, go to RPT payment where you will enter your tax declaration number and property identification number, from which your SOA will appear and then, you can choose whether to pay quarterly or yearly”, Lacuna explained.

When this is done, Lacuna said that the taxpayer may choose the mode of payment either through money transfer, bank or GCash after which he will be issued an e-OR or e-receipt.

She also announced that those who will pay before December 10 will be able to avail of a 20 percent discount while those who will pay from December 11 to 29 will get 15 percent discount. A ten percent discount will still be given for those who will choose to pay in January. (Baby Cuevas)
