Binuksan ni Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna sa publiko ng panibagong Instagrammable na pasyalan sa grounds mismo ng City Hall.
Ang modern type pocket garden na pasyalan ay pormal na binuksan at pinailawan mismo ni Lacuna sa Manila City Hall grounds malapit sa tanggapan ng Department of Tourism, Culture and Arts of Manila (DTCAM).
Si Lacuna ay sinamahan nina City Administrator Bernie Ang, Vice Mayor Yul Servo, City Engineer Armand Andres, City Architect Pepito Balmoris, City Electrician Randy Sadac, DTCAM Director Charlie Dungo at Councilor Numero Lim sa pagpapasinaya ng nasabing garden.
Ayon sa alkalde, ang pagpapaganda ng periphery parks ng Manila City Hall ay isang proyekto na layuning maging accessible sa publiko at sa mga nagsasagawa ng transaksyon sa loob ng City Hall ang mga nasabing lugar.
Sinabi ni Andres na ang paglikha ng mga bagong pasyalan ay nagmula sa pananaw ng alkalde na mag- develop ng ‘bare open areas’ sa paligid ng City Hall para mas maging kaakit-akit at matandaan ng publiko ang imaheng gustong ipakita ng lungsod.
“Granite floor tile finishes and various ornamental and endemic plants will decorate these open spaces to make the area more relaxing and an appropriate area for people to rest in. A cascading fountain and various lights will accentuate the area,” pahayag ni Andres.
Ang iba pang katangian ng newly-opened pocket garden ay ang mga sumusunod: grass ground cover/lawn and decorative landscaping plants including glass fiber-reinforced concrete pots; cascading type water fountain (illuminated); metal benches and solar type pole luminaires; Manila City Hall signage and free-standing logo; new enclosing steel gates and fences; glass railings for deck and stainless-steel ramp railings; customized feature lanterns and various type of luminaires for night time lighting; water supply for irrigation and construction of cistern tank; drainage system including provision of area drains, swale drains and trench drains with stainless steel cover and lighted step planting at walk over luminaires.
Matatagpuan sa kanto ng Taft Avenue at Natividad Lopez Street at sa lugar sa kanto ng Antonio Villegas Street at Natividad Lopez Street ang nasabing pocket garden na may sukat na 1,877 square meters na mayroon dinh iba’t-ibang klase, sukat at hugis ng floor tiles.
